Purge media to a valve bearing sleeve is required to keep particles and process gas from entering the valve packing. A loss of purge flow may cause the valve to stick, debris to form around the stem, or packing failure, leading to a loss of containment of the process.
If the purge flow is too high, and the valve stem, disc or orifice plate may erode prematurely, causing a unit shutdown. This relatively small flowrate must be controlled within a narrow range to be most effective.
Our principal Manufacturing company provides different solutions to this problem. These systems are direct replacements for older style, restriction orifice based, purge systems.
